A prominent pre mature smile lines started to appear in your early twenties which is not at all genetics. Though, a smile line look beautiful but if it is because of pre mature skin aging or skin sagging, it can ruin your appearance. The main reason could be the poor, unhealthy lifestyle, stress or depression. Additionally, you can take collagen boosting food or collagen boosters.
What is pre mature smile lines?
Smile lines, also known as laugh lines and nasolabial folds, are a form of wrinkles that tend to form around the corners of the mouth covering the upper area of lips from both sides. In some cases, these wrinkles can also appear near the eyes. These lines become more prominent when you smile. And it can appear without a smile as well that can make you look a bit tired and depressed.
Pre mature smile lines appears in early twenties or late teenage that can make you look tired and aged.
How To Get Rid Of Pre Mature Smile Lines?
While aging may make these wrinkles more apparent, though you don’t have to worry much because there are various solutions available to reduce their appearance.
Professional treatments
Treatment options for smile lines vary, ranging from surgical procedures to cosmetic treatments. Before heading onto professional treatments, consulting a dermatologist or plastic surgeon with expertise is advisable. Over-the-counter solutions are available but may not provide long-lasting results. Consider discussing these wrinkle treatment options with a healthcare professional. I personally used topical treatments and exercise to get rid of smile lines.
Botox
Botox is very known and oldest treatment for wrinkles. It is also an injectable fillers used by dermatologists and they injects this substance using a small needle in the targeted area that lasts three months. These substances function by reducing muscle activity in the specified region, resulting in smoother and less prominent lines and wrinkles. They are also effective for treating smile lines around the eyes but less suitable for treating lines around the mouth. Visible improvements can be observed within days of the first injection.
Fillers
Injectable fillers are a popular option for individuals seeking to eliminate smile lines without surgery. And it is a common treatment among people who have taken medical treatments for smile lines. Most fillers contain hyaluronic acid and are administered at the fold extending from the mouth to the nose. Results are immediately visible, and it can be also reversed in case you don’t like it on your face.
Laser
Laser treatment aims to reduce skin spots and wrinkles by exposing the underlying layer of fresh skin. This treatment can cause swelling and discomfort as a side effect. Although they typically diminish within a few days. Scarring and infection may also occur.
Facial surgery
It can be a bit risky and many people may not like to opt for this treatment. However, if you desire longer-lasting, more noticeable results, surgery could be a choice you can opt for. Rhytidectomy, a kind of facelift is the most comprehensive and enduring method to tackle smile lines. This procedure can effectively target lines around your mouth and eyes simultaneously. Your plastic surgeon may suggest combining eyelid surgery with a facelift for optimal results.
Collagen induction therapy
It is also known as micro needling and you may have heard about it, since it was very popular on YouTube. The goal is to boost the natural production of collagen in your skin through this treatment. Losing collagen can result in smile lines and pre-mature wrinkles.
How I get rid of smile lines?
Here I’m sharing my personal experience of getting pre mature smile lines and successfully getting rid of it that too at home, without any professional face lift or treatments.
I got smile lines in my early twenties which is a sign of pre mature wrinkles. And it was quite visible. I only used topical treatments and facial exercise. And it helped me reduce the appearance of smile line up to 90%. Obviously it did take several months and I got desirable results.
1. Using Sunscreen Every Single Day
Protect your skin from premature aging and smile lines by consistently using sunscreen with a minimum SPF of 30 is must if you want to prevent a prominent smile line on your face. This will shield your skin from UV rays and halt additional skin damage.
I used to apply sunscreen prior to having smile lines but once I have noticed smile lines on my face. I apply sunscreen regularly that too with high SPFs without skipping a day.
If you want some recommendation, here are the some sunscreens which I recommend:

2. Tretinoin
What is Tretinoin?
Tretinoin, also known as retinoic acid, is a medicated cream utilized for treating acne and sun-damaged skin. It has ability to enhance the look of surface wrinkles, fine lines, and dark spots. This generic name for synthetic vitamin A is available under various brand names with Retin-A being one of them.
How It Works?
Tretinoin functions by enhancing the speed at which your body generates new skin cells through the process known as skin cell turnover. Tretinoin and retinol gives me most desirable results. It help me reduce the appearance of smile lines but it also causes some side effects line pimples, extremely dry-tight skin, and skin sensitivity. Applying Tretinoin is an effective choice to reduce smile lines but it may not suit everyone. Therefore, you can opt for a good retinol treatment. Because I have also used it and it give me good results.
The one I have used:
-
Tretin 0.05% Cream
Tretin 0.05% Cream is a type of vitamin A that aids in treating acne by unclogging skin pores and stopping the formation of spots or pimples. Results may take a few weeks to become visible, so continue using it consistently even if you don’t see immediate improvements. In some cases, acne may worsen initially before improving, but with correct usage, your skin will become clearer. Ask your doctor to prescribe and consult before using it. Pregnant and lactating women should avoid it.
Furthermore, I would also suggest you to apply on affected area only.
3. Retinol
What is retinol?
Retinol is easily available over the counter in the form of cream, lotion, serum, eye cream and body lotion. It is a form of vitamin A that increases cell turnover of the skin, hence causing exfoliation and opening up of clogged pores, thus suitable for acne and preventing breakouts. Other functions of retinol include increasing collagen production, which imparts firmness, elasticity, and texture to the skin, hence fighting against aging.
The one I have used:
-

Neutrogena’s Rapid Wrinkle Repair Moisturizer has been clinically proven to help smooth fine lines and texture, as well as diminish the appearance of stubborn deep wrinkles such as crow’s feet, forehead lines, and cheek wrinkles. Well, I personally used it and it does reduce smile lines, tiny bumps, tighten skin and pores. But some people may not find it moisturizing enough.
The Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair Moisturizer With Sunscreen SPF 30 is an excellent anti-aging day cream designed for indoor use. In case, you didn’t find this one, you can use the Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair Night Cream.
It is recommended to avoid using this moisturizer with other exfoliating ingredients because it can irritate skin.
4. Hyaluronic Acid
Hyaluronic Acid reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by keeping the skin moist and creating a plump effect. When the skin is well-hydrated and protected, it can produce more skin cells since it doesn’t have to struggle for moisture. This results in smoother and fuller skin cells with less wrinkles and fine lines.

-

5. Exercise
I have followed only a single exercise instead of different massages, and this single exercise reduces the appearance of smile lines. If you like facial massages, you can definitely search it on google. But here I am sharing something that works for me.
Mouthwash move exercise

Step 1
Puff out your cheeks. To avoid wrinkles, press your fingers against your lips to help smooth them out.
Step 2
Maintain this position while performing the exercise. Begin shifting the air from one cheek to the other, similar to using mouthwash.
Step 3
Be attentive, as you will sense the nasolabial creases internally by this stage. Repeat for 30 seconds.
Step 4
Exhale and unwind.
Step 5
Repeat this process 3 times.
Do this exercise everyday twice and you will notice a good difference.
Conclusion
Smile lines can be prevented to an extent and in case of pre-mature smile lines, it can be reversed to look your age.
